Communications Officer (Grade V)

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West is seeking a Grade V Communications Officer to join its Communications and Public Affairs Team. This permanent, full‑time position will support internal and external communications across the Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver communication strategies for the HSE Mid West region.
• Produce and manage content for internal newsletters, press releases, social media and website updates.
• Coordinate media relations and respond to public inquiries.
• Support campaign planning and execution to promote health initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior management and other departments to ensure consistent messaging.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Experience in a public sector or healthcare communications environment is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
