Community and Schools Engagement Manager

About the role

The Community and Schools Engagement Manager will be based in the Clondalkin area (Neilstown, Rowlagh, Balgaddy) and work across three community centres owned by South Dublin County Council. The role focuses on reducing social exclusion and the impacts of poverty by strengthening community capacity and fostering partnerships with local schools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate community programmes that address identified needs.
• Facilitate communication between YMCA Dublin, local schools, community members and stakeholders.
• Identify community and school needs through outreach and consultation.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local organisations and volunteers.
• Report on programme progress and outcomes to the Clondalkin Community Regional Manager.
• Oversee centre maintenance, supervise contractors and ensure safe facilities.
• Manage CE, Youth Work and Childcare staff, providing guidance and support.

Required profile

• Passionate about improving lives and community wellbeing.
• Strong communication, facilitation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Willingness to work full‑time (37.5 h/week), one Saturday per month and be on‑call for out‑of‑hours needs.
• Experience working with children, young people and families in a community or educational setting.
