Construction Materials Technician

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Construction Materials Technician to join our team in Naas, Co. Kildare. Based primarily in our materials testing laboratory, you will also travel to live construction sites across Ireland to support sampling and testing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out testing of construction materials such as soil, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
• Conduct on‑site sampling and in‑situ testing of various materials for analysis.
• Complete paperwork and maintain accurate records of all tests.
• Assist with field and laboratory‑based testing activities.
• Work within approved UKAS accredited management systems.
• Liaise with senior staff and clients to ensure high‑standard delivery.
• Maintain excellent health and safety standards on site and in the lab.
• Set up, clean and maintain testing equipment and work areas.

Required profile

• Previous experience in construction or civil engineering projects is preferred but not essential.
• Physically fit for manual handling of equipment and samples weighing 15‑20 kg.
• Self‑motivated, hardworking with a strong work ethic.
• Good verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full clean EU driving licence and Safe Pass (essential).
