About the role

The Beaumont Hospital is seeking a senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join its multidisciplinary team. This full‑time position involves delivering high‑quality anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties and contributing to the hospital’s clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert anaesthetic assessment, planning and delivery for elective and emergency procedures.
• Lead and supervise junior anaesthetists, trainees and nursing staff in the operating theatres.
• Participate in on‑call rotas, emergency airway management and critical care support.
• Contribute to departmental audit, research and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to optimise patient outcomes and safety.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration on the Irish Medical Council.
• Specialist training and certification in Anaesthesiology.
• Significant experience as a consultant or senior anaesthetist.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of anaesthetic techniques and pharmacology.
• Proficiency in airway management and peri‑operative monitoring.
