Data Centre Technician – 6‑9 Month Contract

About the role

Gempool is seeking a Data Centre Technician on a 6‑9 month contract to support day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑paced technical environment in Dublin.

Key responsibilities

• Install, replace, and remove server hardware.
• Support basic troubleshooting of equipment issues.
• Assist with racking, stacking, and cabling activities.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Record and track equipment accurately.
• Work as part of an operational team.

Required profile

• Experience in a data centre or IT hardware environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of computer/server hardware.
• Experience building or customising PCs (must).
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic to intermediate system administration experience.
• Ability to work independently and support junior staff.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious team player with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Server hardware installation and maintenance.
• PC building and customisation.
• Troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
• System administration (basic to intermediate).
• CompTIA A+ certification (desirable).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (desirable).

What we offer

• Annual salary of €32,000.
