Design Coordinator

About the role

The Design Coordinator will join BAM’s Design & Build team in Kildare, supporting the delivery of large‑scale construction, civil and facilities projects across Ireland. You will act as a bridge between designers, technical assessors and the client, ensuring design outputs meet regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Issue and manage MTS (RDD) documents to the Department of Education and technical assessors.
• Oversee the Design Team’s submission of design packages and checklists via Autodesk ACC CDE.
• Coordinate site benchmark mock‑ups, record attendance and upload reports to the CDE.
• Validate subcontractor documentation such as DOPs and CE markings.
• Prepare the design portion of bi‑weekly contractor progress reports.
• Lead design development from concept through construction, chairing design meetings.
• Manage façade system design, including curtain walls, cladding, glazing and brickwork.
• Resolve interdisciplinary clashes with M&E, structural and architectural designers.
• Track design submittals, RFIs and approvals against the project programme.

Required profile

• Strong people‑management and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and adhere to Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and façade standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk ACC (Common Data Environment).
• AutoCAD competency.
• Advanced use of Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
