About the role
The EHSS Manager will support Maintenance, Critical Utilities and all other functions at the Cruiserath Biologics site, providing expert advice on safety, emergency response, occupational hygiene and ergonomics. This role ensures that BMS Ireland’s environmental, health, safety and security programs meet corporate standards and comply with EU and local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and continuously improve EHSS programs and policies to align with BMS standards and EU legislation.
- Provide technical oversight for all environmental EHSS activities, including chemical approvals and waste management.
- Support Maintenance and Critical Utilities with safety and emergency response matters.
- Lead regulatory preparedness, liaise with external agencies and build trust with internal stakeholders.
- Participate in EHSS committees, self‑assessments, audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Promote the BMS Cruiserath Safety Culture Program and sustain local safety boards.
- Stop operations that could endanger the environment, workforce or facilities and drive corrective actions.
- Deliver training on environmental and safety responsibilities across Irish sites.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping and reporting to national and corporate authorities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in EHSS management within a manufacturing or biopharmaceutical environment.
- Strong knowledge of EU and Irish EHSS legislation and corporate directives.
- Ability to communicate effectively with external regulators and internal teams.
- Demonstrated capability to lead safety culture initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to make timely decisions to protect people and the environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with EHSS management platforms for investigations, inspections and compliance tracking.
- Experience in chemical safety approval processes.
- Competence in preparing regulatory reports and documentation.
