Lecturer in Engineering Management (Permanent, Full‑time)

About the role

The School of Engineering at the University of Galway invites applications for a full‑time, permanent Lecturer in Engineering Management. The role focuses on operational excellence, data‑driven performance improvement, quality engineering and regulatory compliance, supporting the university’s ambition in advanced manufacturing and sustainable industrial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering Management, integrating cutting‑edge research and industry best practice.
• Supervise student projects and theses, fostering links with industry partners in Ireland, Europe and globally.
• Build a research programme addressing critical challenges in advanced manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and regulated software.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the School of Engineering, Computer Science, Business & Economics and relevant research centres.
• Contribute to programme administration and strategic initiatives of the College of Science and Engineering.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Management/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of research and teaching in operational excellence, quality engineering or regulatory compliance.
• Experience working with industry partners and securing research funding.
• Ability to engage with interdisciplinary research institutes and centres.
