Maintenance Fitter – Weekend Shift

About the role

AbbVie is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its Westport site on a permanent, weekend‑shift basis. The role involves 12‑hour shifts on a bi‑weekly rotation, supporting aseptic manufacturing, filling, packaging and site services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and services.
• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support machine effectiveness initiatives and source spare parts.
• Assist specialist vendors with preventive maintenance and attend FAT/commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in equipment qualifications and set up preventive maintenance routines.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Provide KPI data for the technical team and support regulatory audits.

Required profile

• Trade‑certified mechanical qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a highly automated production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work overtime and shift work.
