Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Sanmina Fermoy is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support high‑volume, regulated production of medical devices. The role focuses on achieving line targets, driving process improvements, and ensuring equipment performance in a Lean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time machine performance to maximise output and meet daily/weekly targets.
• Specify, install, and support production equipment, including robotics, PLCs and pneumatics.
• Lead preventive‑maintenance activities to minimise downtime and improve yield.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations for line and quality issues.
• Support new‑product introductions and provide DFM input.
• Perform process capability analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• NFQ Level 8 degree in Engineering (Electronic, Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a regulated high‑volume manufacturing environment, preferably medical devices.
• Strong technical knowledge of automation, robotics, PLCs and pneumatics.
• Demonstrated ability to apply Lean manufacturing principles.
• Attention to detail with a compliance‑focused mindset.
