Manufacturing Engineer – Vascular Division

About the role

Abbott’s Vascular Division in Clonmel is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support efficient operations within the production area. The role focuses on optimizing processes, ensuring production targets are met, and collaborating with quality and R&D teams to integrate new products.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and complete technical activities that lead to new or improved products and processes for current and next‑generation programmes.
• Monitor equipment, machines and tools, identifying and resolving issues that cause non‑conforming products, low yields or quality problems.
• Analyse and solve engineering problems ranging from routine to complex, applying innovative solutions.
• Prepare reports, publish findings and deliver presentations to communicate results.
• Collaborate with quality, R&D and other internal stakeholders to integrate new products or processes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques.
• Ability to develop specialised expertise and become a recognised authority in a specific area.
• Business awareness – incorporates company policies, understands organisational and customer needs and stays informed of emerging technology trends.
• Effective collaboration and networking skills to build internal and external relationships.
