Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor – Psychiatry (Registrar)

About the role

This fixed‑term position is for a Non‑Consultant Hospital Doctor (Registrar level) working in adult inpatient and community psychiatry within the Cluain Mhuire Adult Mental Health Services in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The role offers exposure to a high‑quality clinical and academic environment, with strong multidisciplinary support and a teaching focus for RCSI students and NCHDs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult patients in both inpatient and community settings.
• Participate actively in the service’s teaching programme and supervise medical students.
• Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mental health care.

Required profile

• Medical degree and full registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Previous experience in psychiatry is preferred; experience in the Irish health system is desirable.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and meet English language requirements.
• Commitment to the fixed‑term period (July 2026 – January 2027) with potential extension.
