About the role
The National Maternity Hospital is seeking qualified medical professionals to join its team as Registrars in Obstetrics and Gynaecology starting July 2026. This role offers the chance to work in a high‑volume tertiary maternity centre, providing comprehensive care to women and newborns.
Key responsibilities
- Provide acute and routine obstetric and gynaecological care to patients.
- Participate in on‑call rotas and manage obstetric emergencies.
- Supervise junior doctors and medical students in clinical settings.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Engage in audit, research, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Required profile
- Active registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Current experience within the Irish health system.
- Medical qualification recognised for specialist training.
- Commitment to professional development in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Required skills
- Clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Ability to manage acute obstetric emergencies.
- Proficiency in patient care documentation and electronic health records.
