About the role

The Leiden Protein Analytical Development team is seeking a Principal Scientist to serve as an Analytical Scientific Integrator. This senior position will lead scientific activities that support the development and commercial manufacturing of protein‑based therapeutics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead method development, comparability studies and protein characterization projects.
• Drive complex investigations and life‑cycle management of protein products.
• Champion technical innovation and oversee laboratory operations.
• Provide regulatory support and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate across Discovery, Product Development and Supply functions to integrate analytical strategies.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in protein analytical development within biopharma.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional scientific teams.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to an inclusive work environment.
