Project Manager – Rail Infrastructure Project

About the role

The role involves leading the delivery of a major rail infrastructure project across the Leitrim‑Longford corridor in Ireland. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery while coordinating multiple stakeholders in the rail and civil engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a large‑scale rail infrastructure project across the Leitrim–Longford corridor.
• Manage project programme, budget, and resource allocation from planning through to completion.
• Oversee site teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with rail authorities, designers, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with rail industry standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Manage risk, identify issues early, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to senior management and clients.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and commercial performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and rail safety protocols.
• Drive quality assurance and delivery of works in line with technical requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 + years’ experience in project management within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Proven experience on rail, transport, or major linear infrastructure projects.
• Irish or UK construction experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage complex programmes and work under pressure.
• Full driving licence.
