Python ETL Developer / Data Engineer

About the role

The Python ETL Developer / Data Engineer will design, build and maintain scalable data integration solutions that support reporting, analytics and operational processes. Working in a hybrid setting in Letterkenny, you will use Python and SQL to create robust ETL pipelines that handle a variety of structured and semi‑structured data sources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise ETL pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Extract data from CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, APIs, web URLs and relational databases.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, transformation, enrichment and aggregation with Pandas and related libraries.
• Load processed data into SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or other relational stores and output formats such as CSV, Excel and JSON.
• Write and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and database scripts.
• Implement logging, exception handling, reconciliation processes and data‑quality checks.
• Support unit testing, system testing, deployment activities and production issue resolution.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and technical teams to understand and implement data requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience developing data pipelines with Python.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to work US‑hour coverage (1 pm – 9 pm GMT).
• Good communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
