Rolling Stock Test & Commissioning Engineer

About the role

A great opportunity to work for a global rail company on a long‑term project, providing test and commissioning expertise for rolling stock. The role involves ensuring test efficiency, diagnosing warranty issues and supporting system modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Implement standard processes, methodologies and tools to maximise test efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve warranty‑related issues while providing technical support under contract agreements.
• Design and install new wiring and system modifications on rolling stock.
• Analyse and update test specifications and documentation for functional testing procedures.
• Perform specialised processes such as crimping and torque tightening with precision.
• Conduct independent functional testing of train‑borne systems using diagnostic and computer‑based tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in rail vehicle test, commissioning, validation, maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Electrical engineering qualification (Electrical Biased Qualification) is mandatory.
• Proven knowledge of testing various systems and subsystems of rolling stock vehicles.
• Strong health & safety awareness and ability to fault‑find during testing.
