Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor – Physiotherapy

About the role

The University of New South Wales seeks a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Physiotherapy to join its Kensington Campus. The position can be appointed in an Education‑Focused stream or a Teaching & Research stream, depending on the candidate’s expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, innovative teaching across the physiotherapy programme, with emphasis on musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Design, develop and continuously improve curriculum and assessment materials.
• Lead accreditation activities and maintain strong links with professional bodies.
• Develop an independent research agenda, secure external funding and publish nationally and internationally.
• Supervise higher‑degree research candidates and foster collaborative research partnerships.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• PhD in Physiotherapy or a related health/medical discipline.
• Current registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist in Australia.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Evidence‑based practice experience and ability to translate research into teaching.
• Proven record of curriculum design and delivery.

What we offer

• Academic Level C/D salary $155,000–$200,000 per annum plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
