Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects in Dublin. You will work from concept through to commissioning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on some of Europe’s most technically demanding developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design function on major projects.
• Coordinate design consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Review and validate mechanical designs, calculations and technical submissions.
• Drive value engineering and design improvements.
• Support procurement and equipment selection.
• Work closely with commissioning teams to ensure successful testing and handover.
• Manage BIM and multidisciplinary design activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop the wider engineering team.
• Manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services design.
• Background in data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or similarly complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
