Senior Project Manager – Capital Investments in Pharma Diagnostics

About the role

The Pharmaceutical Diagnostics division is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale capital investment projects across a regulated GMP manufacturing network. Reporting to the Global Head of Capex / Project Management, you will own end‑to‑end delivery of external manufacturing (CMO) investments, ensuring a secure supply of critical diagnostic pharmaceuticals worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full project lifecycles from concept, feasibility, and business case through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover.
• Represent the organisation for CMO‑executed capital investments, directing EPCMV partners and ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, quality, cost, and schedule standards.
• Manage medium and large‑scale capital projects in GMP environments, including manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, cost forecasts, risk registers, and governance structures.
• Drive cross‑functional teams across engineering, quality, validation, operations, procurement, and external partners.
• Oversee contractor and supplier selection, contract negotiation, performance management, and change control.
• Provide concise, decision‑focused reporting to senior leadership and investment governance forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, or Mechanical); Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years delivering medium/large capital projects in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated life‑sciences environments.
• Proven track record of managing projects exceeding $25 M, preferably in small and large molecule API manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, GxP, EHS, and Lean principles.
