Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Data Protection

About the role

Mastercard’s enterprise storage team is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen the data‑protection platform. You will focus on the Commvault backup suite, automation with CHEF, AI‑driven improvements, and storage technologies from VAST Data, NetApp, Oracle ZFS and Dell/EMC Data Domain.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the enterprise storage team in project meetings, providing advice, status updates, training and technical support.
• Collaborate with customers to gather monitoring and automation requirements and deliver solutions using available toolsets and scripting languages.
• Administer, support and maintain enterprise monitoring tools across a multi‑tier storage environment.
• Design and implement automation workflows with Ansible, Bitbucket, CHEF and Jenkins.
• Document designs, processes and support procedures for all built solutions.
• Troubleshoot networking, Unix/Linux systems and application issues to ensure high availability.

Required profile

• Proven experience resolving complex application‑availability incidents through monitoring and automation.
• Self‑starter who can work with minimal direction.
• Comfortable collaborating with geographically dispersed, cross‑functional teams.
• Senior‑level expertise in site reliability engineering and storage operations.
