Senior Software Engineer – Sensors

About the role

QT Technologies Ireland Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on sensor‑based technologies across smartphones, IoT devices, wearables, and smart glasses. The role spans the full product lifecycle, from research and development to validation and commercial deployment, and involves close collaboration with systems, software, and integration teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Android applications for sensor data collection and feature demonstration.
• Create cross‑platform desktop tools (Windows and Linux) with user interfaces that interact with Android devices for device control, data validation, visualization, and post‑processing.
• Develop Java‑based software components following industry‑standard design patterns and deployment models.
• Work on prototype and reference platforms covering mobile devices, wearables, and smart‑glasses form factors.
• Collaborate with global, cross‑functional teams to support sensor algorithm development and commercialization.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end data processing pipelines, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise production data workflows.
• Support internal data‑collection campaigns and participate in field data‑collection activities.
• Assist in sensor feature commercialisation, including algorithm performance validation and customer data analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering or related experience.
