Software Engineer – Java (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong Java expertise to join a large engineering team in Dublin. The team builds and integrates third‑party services into a high‑scale, distributed platform that powers bookings and transactions across multiple international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain third‑party API integrations within large‑scale backend systems.
• Create scalable microservices to handle high‑throughput, real‑time request processing.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external partners to launch new service capabilities.
• Optimise system performance, reliability and latency across globally distributed infrastructure.
• Support delivery of new customer‑facing features, ensuring robust handling of edge cases and service failures.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend software development, especially building and consuming APIs.
• Proven understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design principles.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and production‑grade, scalable systems.
• Proficiency in Java or a similar object‑oriented programming language.
• Ability to work across multiple teams and manage complex technical integrations independently.
