Software Engineer – Linux Runtime Platform & Tools for ML Accelerators

About the role

Qualcomm Cloud Edge in Cork is seeking a Software Engineer to develop Linux‑based platforms for datacenter products. The role focuses on driver and tools development, test creation, software integration and the commercialization of Qualcomm’s next‑generation high‑performance inference accelerator.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Linux user‑space drivers and runtime components.
• Develop testing frameworks, unit, integration and system tests.
• Build and enhance development tools and automation scripts.
• Integrate software modules into the overall accelerator platform.
• Conduct functional and performance testing to validate features.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in Linux user‑space development using modern C/C++.
• Proficiency in API design, multithreading and synchronization mechanisms.
• Experience with UML capture, object‑oriented design and low‑level implementation.
• Solid understanding of Linux kernel, drivers, RTOS and SoC architecture.
• Familiarity with source‑code management tools, especially Git.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a mixed hardware/software team.
