Software Engineer (Python, AI)

About the role

Join Acuity’s high‑performing engineering team to build scalable, cloud‑native platforms that embed AI for real‑world impact. You will work in cross‑functional Agile squads, collaborating with product, cloud architecture, and data‑science experts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software and REST APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, OOP, typing, async, Pydantic).
• Support deployment and operation of containerised solutions following cloud‑native principles.
• Integrate AI features for automation and data intelligence.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions) and perform code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests with PyTest using TDD/BDD practices.
• Ensure security best practices through AuthN/AuthZ (OpenID/OAuth2) and container vulnerability scanning.
• Collaborate in Scrum or Kanban environments to deliver iterative outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python; familiarity with other languages (Golang, Rust, Java) is a plus.
• Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask.
• Proficiency with Git and Agile development practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Understanding of software testing and automation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
