Staff Grade Pharmacist (Temporary)

About the role

This is a full‑time temporary Staff Grade Pharmacist position within the Pharmacy Department of St. Vincent’s University Hospital. The role involves delivering ward‑based clinical pharmacy services and supporting the dispensary, aseptic compounding and medicines information functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, supply and supervise the provision, management and use of medicines and related items.
• Provide ward‑based clinical pharmacy services to patients.
• Maintain pharmacy records in line with required standards and policies.
• Advise medical, nursing and other health‑care professionals on the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.
• Provide accurate, up‑to‑date medicines information to health‑care professionals.
• Participate in the development, implementation and audit of medication guidelines.
• Report discrepancies, incidents or service inadequacies to the Pharmacy Services Manager, Chief Pharmacist or Medication Safety Coordinator.
• Assist in dispensary, clinical service, aseptic compounding and medicines information activities as directed.
• Engage in continuing education and research activities relevant to the post.
• Rotate through dispensary, clinical pharmacy services, aseptic compounding and medicines information as required.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist complying with the PSI Code of Conduct.
• Willingness to rotate across multiple pharmacy service areas.
• Professional appearance and adherence to hospital uniform standards.
