Supply Chain Specialist – Food Business

About the role

We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to deliver high‑level supply‑chain excellence within a fast‑paced food business. The role involves building strong partnerships with commercial and operations teams to maximise product availability and drive efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory to achieve 100 % product availability and support customer demand.
• Measure and improve supplier delivery performance using an account‑manager approach and regular service‑level communication.
• Challenge safety‑stock levels, minimum order quantities and lead‑times to optimise availability and shelf life.
• Control waste risk for short‑life products and identify opportunities to reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Trading and Sales to balance range, avoid overstocks, and mitigate residual stock and waste.
• Provide ad‑hoc inventory analysis and reporting for the assigned portfolio.
• Support Demand Planners with forecasting for standard, promotional and seasonal activity across all channels.
• Work closely with the warehouse team to maximise operational efficiency.
• Communicate product availability and recovery updates to the wider business.
• Review and recommend improvements to operating systems, processes and practices to reduce costs.
• Help the business meet stock‑management targets and support new customer or product launches.
• Design and lead supply‑chain projects that deliver added value and cost benefits.

Required profile

• Previous experience in inventory planning, preferably in a fast‑food or food‑service environment.
• Strong planning and time‑management abilities with the confidence to prioritise tasks.
• Understanding of forecasting activities and supplier management.
• Proven track record of process development and continuous improvement.
• Team player with high enthusiasm and the ability to adapt in a fast‑changing environment.
• Third‑level qualification (degree) desirable or equivalent business experience.
