Criminal Defence Solicitor – Dublin (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Criminal Defence Solicitor to join Ireland's leading public‑interest and human‑rights law practice in Dublin. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of criminal matters, representing clients from the earliest police interview through to court hearings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation to clients in criminal matters.
• Attend Garda stations to advise clients during interviews and detention.
• Prepare and manage case files, review evidence and take instructions.
• Represent clients in the Circuit Court and instruct counsel for higher courts.
• Draft legal documents, motions and submissions.
• Liaise with barristers, Gardaí, prosecution and court services.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure clear communication throughout the case lifecycle.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate.
• Minimum 3 years experience in criminal defence law.
• Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and manage a busy caseload.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
