About the role
We are looking for a motivated Criminal Defence Solicitor to join Ireland's leading public‑interest and human‑rights law practice in Dublin. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of criminal matters, representing clients from the earliest police interview through to court hearings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in criminal matters.
- Attend Garda stations to advise clients during interviews and detention.
- Prepare and manage case files, review evidence and take instructions.
- Represent clients in the Circuit Court and instruct counsel for higher courts.
- Draft legal documents, motions and submissions.
- Liaise with barristers, Gardaí, prosecution and court services.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure clear communication throughout the case lifecycle.
Required profile
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate.
- Minimum 3 years experience in criminal defence law.
- Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and manage a busy caseload.
- Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
- Positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
