Customer Care Representative

About the role

Join Tesco's Waterford Customer Engagement Centre as a Customer Care Representative. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers, using empathy and problem‑solving skills to deliver fast, accurate solutions across a wide range of queries.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of customer issues and provide confident, caring resolutions.
• Apply Tesco’s "Every Little Help Makes a Big Difference" approach in every interaction.
• Model Tesco values and act with integrity in all decisions.
• Monitor personal performance against key metrics and objectives.
• Engage regularly with your Team Leader for feedback, development and recognition.
• Identify and raise process‑improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to all Tesco policies, including attendance, sickness and schedule adherence.
• Share knowledge with peers and support a collaborative team environment.
• Work closely with Team Leaders, Operations Managers and other departments to resolve queries.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation and passion for helping people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence handling complaints with empathy, patience and sound judgement.
• Adaptability and flexibility in a fast‑changing environment.
• Responsible, reliable and solutions‑focused attitude.
• Knowledge of customer‑service principles and practices.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High IT literacy and quick learning of new systems.
