Design Engineer II – Analog IC Design

About the role

Cadence is seeking a Design Engineer II to join its Analog IC design team in Cork. You will contribute to the creation of analog and mixed‑signal integrated circuits, taking concepts from specification through to final verification.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop analog/mixed‑signal IC blocks such as amplifiers, biasing/bandgap circuits, voltage regulators, ADCs/DACs, drivers, receivers and clocking circuits.
• Utilise CAD tools for circuit simulation, layout and physical verification.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet customer specifications.
• Perform lab testing and validation of prototypes where required.

Required profile

• BEng or MEng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• MS or PhD in EE is a plus.
• Strong analog problem‑solving ability and effective communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to work cooperatively.

Required skills

• Experience with CAD tools for circuit simulation, layout and physical verification.
• Familiarity with Cadence design tools (preferred).
• Knowledge of analog/mixed‑signal circuit blocks (amplifiers, regulators, ADC/DAC, etc.).
• Lab test and measurement experience (optional but advantageous).
