Financial Accountant – Full‑time Finance Role

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Westport. The role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations and internal controls.
• Process weekly and monthly payroll, including pension reporting.
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
• Support Accounts Payable as needed.
• Perform cash sheet reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare corporation tax computations.
• Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.
• Prepare, analyse and present financial reports for management.
• Assist the Financial Controller with projects and ad‑hoc tasks.
• Continuously improve financial processes and reporting systems.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and strong communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Payroll processing experience.
