Gatehouse/Yard Operative – Full‑Time

About the role

Wilsons Auctions is seeking a reliable Gatehouse/Yard Operative to join its Dublin branch on a full‑time basis. You will be responsible for managing vehicle keys and supporting the smooth flow of auction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log, label and securely store all vehicle keys on arrival.
• Maintain accurate key records within the auction management system.
• Issue and retrieve keys for internal departments such as photography, inspection, valeting and yard staff.
• Release keys to buyers, transporters or authorised third parties after payment and clearance checks.
• Verify vehicle details against keys to ensure correct matching at all times.
• Perform daily key reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Escalate missing, damaged or incorrect keys according to company procedures.
• Support auction days by ensuring timely and controlled key availability.
• Collaborate with Yard, Admin, Transport and Accounts teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to security, health & safety and data protection requirements.
• Assist with audits, stock checks and compliance reporting when required.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage high volumes of keys and vehicles.
• Trustworthy, reliable and security‑conscious.
• Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work under pressure, especially on busy auction days.
• Full clean driving licence held for three years or more.

Required skills

• Confidence using computer systems and databases (auction or asset management systems desirable).
