Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

The Warehouse Team Leader oversees a team of operatives to ensure daily warehouse activities run smoothly, efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising picking, packing, loading and shipping while maintaining compliance with company standards and health‑and‑safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tasks such as receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping to meet accuracy and efficiency targets.
• Monitor team performance, provide coaching and feedback, and address any performance issues.
• Allocate work based on workload, skills and operational priorities, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain accurate stock counts, rotation and proper handling to minimise shrinkage and damage.
• Act as liaison between operatives and management, communicating targets, updates and process changes.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, stock discrepancies and equipment issues, escalating major problems as needed.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in planning shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in a supervisory or team‑leader role.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities with a focus on motivation and engagement.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
