Indirect Tax Analyst – EMEA (Cork, Ireland)

About the role

The Indirect Tax Analyst will support the EMEA VAT Manager based in Cork, ensuring that VAT compliance, reporting and accounting are accurate and timely across the EMEA region. The role involves preparing VAT returns, handling audits, and contributing to ad‑hoc indirect tax projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring compliance with VAT laws and reporting requirements in all EMEA jurisdictions.
• Analyze financial transactions to determine correct VAT treatment and reconcile VAT accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, Intrastat and EC Sales List reports for each country of operation.
• Maintain documentation, process checklists and update internal VAT compliance trackers.
• Support VAT audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, working with IT to optimise VAT systems.
• Provide VAT‑related guidance to finance teams and business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of VAT legislation and compliance requirements in the EMEA region.
• Experience in VAT accounting or tax compliance (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently on multiple deadlines.
• Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on regulatory changes.
