MEP Lead – Heritage Restoration Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join the growing MEP Business Unit of a leading Irish construction contractor. The role will initially focus on a large, complex heritage restoration project in Dublin City Centre, driving modern construction methods while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team and Safety Advisor, including set‑up, maintenance and close‑out of the safety file.
• Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to avoid schedule impacts.
• Oversee site quality assurance for the mechanical package, managing the QA file from inception to completion.
• Control the project schedule together with the project team, consulting engineer and client requirements.
• Administer all project costs – labour, material, plant, variations and valuations.
• Direct day‑to‑day site operations and monitor subcontractor activities, ensuring weekly progress meetings and accurate tracking of manpower.
• Maintain the “In Progress” snagging system, issue labour and subcontractor hours for central tracking.
• Prepare and upload internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress, risks and any delays.
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including safety records, is up‑to‑date and filed.
• Close out the project – final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety and QA files.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing MEP site operations on large, complex construction projects.
• Strong background in site safety, quality assurance and cost control.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consultants and clients.
• Experience with subcontractor management and progress reporting.
