Project Manager – Energy & Decarbonisation Projects

About the role

EM3 is looking for a driven and experienced Project Manager to lead complex mechanical, electrical and energy infrastructure projects within industrial environments. You will oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from scoping and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and close‑out, ensuring safety, quality and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multiple energy and decarbonisation projects across industrial facilities, managing all phases from planning to handover.
• Act as primary liaison between EM3, clients, contractors, equipment vendors and internal engineering teams, facilitating regular meetings and progress reporting.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans using MS Dynamics, coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare budgets, track costs, manage change orders and work with finance to monitor cash flow and project profitability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and client‑specific regulations, and lead quality assurance and commissioning validation.
• Identify project risks early, maintain risk registers and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including Gantt charts, meeting minutes, safety records and technical reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale mechanical and electrical engineering projects in industrial or utility‑scale settings.
• Strong understanding of energy efficiency, decarbonisation technologies such as steam systems and CHP.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to control budgets, schedules and resources while maintaining high quality standards.
• Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance and risk management.
