About the role
Nua Healthcare Services is seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Officer to join our Cork team. You will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of care across our residential, supported living, day services and community outreach programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the Internal Audit department, including policies and procedures.
- Design audit programmes and conduct audits to verify compliance with legislation, regulations, standards and company policies.
- Communicate audit findings to management and follow up on corrective actions.
- Analyse large data sets to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Implement approved recommendations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HIQA, HSE, HSA standards and relevant legislation.
- Assist centre management with regulatory reporting (e.g., Reg 23 six‑month visit, annual report).
- Ensure strict confidentiality for staff and service users.
Required profile
- Third‑level qualification in Healthcare, Social Studies or an equivalent relevant field.
- Demonstrable knowledge of health and social care standards, quality frameworks and health & safety legislation.
- Previous experience in a similar quality or audit role within the health/social care sector.
- Empathy for diverse individuals, strong responsibility, and a proactive, self‑motivated attitude.
- Experience working with people who have additional or complex needs.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and initiative under pressure.
