Security & Network Engineer

About the role

This hands‑on position is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the organisation’s network and security architecture. You will act as the primary technical resource for executing the security strategy, managing IT assets and supporting secure staff transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and VPN services, including configuration of routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls (PFSense, FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto).
• Lead implementation and management of security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus/anti‑malware solutions and SIEM platforms (Splunk, LogRhythm, Log360).
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, provisioning and de‑provisioning hardware and access rights.
• Monitor network performance, apply segmentation and ACLs, and conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management and penetration testing.
• Participate in incident response investigations and provide technical mentorship to junior staff.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of IT experience with a strong focus on network implementation and security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Cybersecurity.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
