Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects (GMP)

About the role
SimoTech is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major capital investment projects for a multinational biopharma client in Cork. You will oversee the full lifecycle of complex manufacturing, cleanroom, utilities and infrastructure works within a GMP environment, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for capital investments, managing external partners and ensuring delivery to safety, GMP, quality, cost and schedule standards.
- Lead projects from concept, feasibility and business case through detailed design, construction, commissioning, qualification and hand‑over to operations.
- Develop and maintain accurate project plans, schedules, cost forecasts, risk registers and governance structures.
- Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams including engineering, quality, validation, operations, procurement and external contractors.
- Manage contractor and supplier selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring and change control.
- Drive rigorous cost control, risk mitigation and stage‑gate reviews to meet investment objectives.
- Interface with regulatory and quality organisations to support inspections, audits and submissions.
- Provide concise, decision‑focused reporting to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering medium to large‑scale capital projects in pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing environments.
- Strong track record of leading multi‑disciplinary project teams and managing external partners.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20‑30% of the time, including weekends and multi‑week stays.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
