Site Engineer

About the role

As a Site Engineer at Farrans you will be responsible for daily inspection of on‑site work quality, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to industry standards. You will work closely with the site team and subcontractors to drive continuous improvement and meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with the engineering team and subcontractors.
• Assist in tracking progress against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
• Record and test workmanship and materials such as drainage, concrete, piling and brickwork.
• Set out works within allowable tolerances and verify setting‑out points and benchmarks.
• Maintain calibration certificates for all measuring equipment.
• Provide and maintain dimensional control for accurate construction.
• Proactively manage health and safety on site.
• Implement test and inspection plans for all site works.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education in Construction Management or equivalent.
• Technical knowledge of engineering best practices.
• Valid CSCS/CSR card and full driving licence.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and lead a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
