Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised construction company, is seeking a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join their growing team. This site‑based position is responsible for accurate setting out, surveying and supporting the delivery of infrastructure and building projects across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Set out site boundaries, infrastructure locations and building dimensions using GPS and total station equipment.
• Conduct levelling, surveying and reduced‑level operations for roads, car parks, drainage, water‑main and electrical/communications services.
• Monitor health and safety protocols, report hazards and maintain safety logs.
• Liaise with contractors, operators and engineers to keep stakeholders informed of progress and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a logbook of site activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Prepare as‑built drawings and records in CAD and PDF formats.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and methods.
• Experience with infrastructure, building works and site services such as drainage, roads and utilities.
• Practical mindset with the ability to adapt to changing site conditions.
• Proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
