Test Engineering Graduate (12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a recent engineering graduate to join our automation team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will involve supporting the design, assembly and testing of prototype automation cells and machinery, helping to improve machine reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing mechanical components, custom fixtures and pneumatic/hydraulic layouts for automated equipment using 3D CAD tools.
• Participate in the assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning of prototype automation cells and machinery.
• Troubleshoot electro‑mechanical failures, analyse sensor data and implement corrective actions to maximise machine uptime.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (BSc or MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Academic experience with 3D modelling and basic automation concepts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley), sensors, actuators, motors and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with programming logic or languages used in industrial automation (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, C++).
• Hands‑on aptitude with test equipment and hand tools (multimeters, screwdrivers, etc.).
