Data Centre Technician – 6‑9 month contract

About the role

Gempool is hiring a Data Centre Technician on a 6‑9 month contract in Dublin. The role supports day‑to‑day data centre operations in a fast‑paced technical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, replace, and remove server hardware.
• Support basic troubleshooting of equipment issues.
• Assist with racking, stacking, and cabling activities.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Record and track equipment accurately.
• Work as part of an operational team.

Required profile

• Experience in a data centre or IT hardware environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of computer/server hardware.
• Experience building or customising PCs (must).
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic to intermediate system administration experience.
• Ability to work independently and support junior staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Good communication skills, reliable, safety‑conscious and a team player.

Required skills

• CompTIA A+ certification (desirable).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (desirable).
• Knowledge of server hardware.
• PC building and customisation.
• Basic system administration.
