Accountant – EMEA Finance (Contract, Cork)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Accountant to join our dynamic EMEA Accounting & Finance team in Cork, Ireland. The role is contract‑based (minimum 9 months) and reports to the Manager of EMEA Finance, focusing on financial integrity and statutory compliance across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and analyse statutory ledger accounts, preparing month‑end, quarter‑end and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Act as primary liaison between the EMEA Finance team and local accountants to ensure compliance with local bookkeeping requirements.
• Perform detailed financial analysis of EMEA entities, investigate variances and provide explanations to management.
• Ensure strong internal controls are documented and adhered to company policies.
• Manage end‑to‑end preparation and review of statutory financial statements for multiple entities.
• Coordinate the annual statutory audit process, serving as the main contact for internal teams and external auditors.
• Prepare US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations for statutory reporting.
• Monitor changes in local GAAP and assess their impact on reporting.
• Supervise junior accountants within the EMEA Accounting & Finance team.
• Build relationships with Finance, Tax, Legal and external auditors and support continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in financial accounting or statutory reporting within a multinational environment or a Big‑Four firm.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially IFRS, and proven experience managing multiple statutory audits.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with major ERP systems such as SAP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
