Accountant

About the role

The Finance Manager is seeking a newly qualified accountant to join a fast‑paced finance team. You will help deliver accurate financial reporting, management accounts and commercial analysis while upholding strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Analyse financial performance and investigate variances.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and robust internal controls.
• Support audits and provide required documentation.
• Collaborate with operational teams to deliver financial insights.
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting initiatives.

Required profile

• Newly qualified accountant with a recognised professional qualification.
• Previous experience in financial or management accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative finance team.
