Adult Education Tutor

About the role

The Adult Education Tutor provides tailored, high‑quality educational support to adult learners with Down syndrome. Working within a person‑centred framework, the tutor plans, delivers and evaluates inclusive learning programmes that promote independence, self‑advocacy and lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and assess engaging, accessible learning experiences for adult learners with Down syndrome.
• Monitor learner progress and adapt programmes to maximise individual potential.
• Support personal development, social inclusion and community participation.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and administrative documentation.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and adhere to safeguarding and inclusion policies.

Required profile

• Qualification in Teaching, Adult Education, Special Education or a related field (third‑level degree).
• Experience working with people with disabilities, preferably adults with Down syndrome.
• Proven experience delivering education or training programmes to adults.
• Understanding of inclusive, person‑centred education practices.
• Strong communication, facilitation, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Garda vetting and commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and lifelong learning.
