Assistant Professor – Law (European Human Rights)

About the role
Dublin City University is seeking an Assistant Professor (Above the bar) in Law to start on 1 September 2026. The role focuses on European Human Rights law in the context of conflict and includes teaching on the BCL programme as well as research in the candidate’s specialisation.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate law courses, including BCL modules.
- Supervise PhD candidates and support their research development.
- Develop and lead research projects, seeking external funding from bodies such as the Irish Research Council and the EU.
- Publish regularly in leading journals and with university presses.
- Engage with international human‑rights organisations and contribute to the School’s research agenda.
Required profile
- Strong international research record in European Human Rights law.
- At least two published monographs in the relevant field.
- Experience working with international human‑rights organisations.
- Proven university teaching experience.
