Associate Engineer (Transportation)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Engineer (Transportation) to join our growing transportation team in Dublin or Dundalk. You will work on major road, rail, public transport and active‑travel projects across Ireland, contributing to all phases from feasibility studies to construction supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and design transport infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Irish design standards.
• Support project delivery from preliminary design through statutory approvals, procurement and contract documentation.
• Prepare detailed design packages, contract drawings and specifications.
• Supervise construction activities and manage contract administration.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with consultants, clients and stakeholders.
• Identify value‑for‑money solutions and support commercial growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Engineering (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer status (essential).
• Experience working in a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of transport design standards and practical application.
• Proven track record delivering road schemes in Ireland.
• Experience across feasibility studies, statutory approvals, detailed design, contract preparation and construction supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and projects.
• Commercial awareness and excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
