Bookkeeper – Killarney

About the role

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a diverse group of companies based in Killarney, County Kerry. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will become embedded within the business, gaining exposure to commercial decision‑making and owning key financial processes across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for several group companies.
• Process supplier invoices and manage creditor and debtor payments.
• Perform bank, credit‑card and intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers where required.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with Revenue requirements.
• Assist with statutory compliance and documentation for dormant accounts.
• Prepare journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller on budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Contribute to finance‑related projects and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping principles.
• Experience preparing company and dormant accounts.
• Proven track record of completing VAT returns and account reconciliations.
• Relevant qualification such as ATI, IATI, AAT or equivalent.
